Davie Crocketts Set for Memorial Day Opening Night in Mocksville

Post-game fireworks, food trucks, beer and college wood-bat baseball headline first-ever home game at Mando Field

MOCKSVILLE, N.C. — The wait is nearly over. The Davie Crocketts, Mocksville’s new summer collegiate wood-bat baseball team, will play their first-ever game on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, at Mando Field at Rich Park.

First pitch against the Uwharrie Wampus Cats is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with post-game fireworks planned to cap the historic Opening Night celebration. Tickets are $8.

The evening will also feature food trucks, beer sales, team merchandise and a full night of Blue Ridge League baseball as the Crocketts begin their inaugural season in Mocksville.

“We’ve been excited about this moment since the Crocketts were first announced,” said Blue Ridge League chairman Greg Sullivan. “Mocksville has a great baseball setting at Mando Field, and we wanted Opening Night to feel like a true community event. With Memorial Day, fireworks and the first game in team history all coming together, it should be a really special night.”

The Crocketts were announced ahead of the 2026 season as one of the Blue Ridge League’s newest clubs, bringing summer collegiate baseball to Mando Field at Rich Park and adding a new local sports identity for Davie County. The team will play a full home schedule in Mocksville from late May through July.

Opening Night is expected to serve as both the team’s official debut and one of the marquee community events of the summer. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, enjoy the food trucks and ballpark atmosphere, and stay after the final out for the fireworks show.

Tickets for Opening Night are available now.
