Davie Crocketts Name J.P. Kehoe Head Coach for Inaugural 2026 Season

The Davie Crocketts are proud to announce the hiring of J.P. Kehoe as the club’s first head coach ahead of the team’s inaugural 2026 season.

Kehoe currently serves as an assistant baseball coach at Carolina University, a role he will continue during the spring before leading the Crocketts this summer in Mocksville.

“I am thrilled to take on the opportunity to be the head coach of the Davie Crocketts and am already looking forward to this summer,” Kehoe said. “Not only will this be a great experience for the town of Mocksville and our players, but playing at Mando Field will be personally special to me. I have called Mando home for the last four years, having played my final year of college baseball for Carolina University there and serving as an assistant coach for Carolina since then.”

Kehoe brings a strong player-development background and firsthand familiarity with the region to the role. A native of South Bend, Indiana, he attended South Bend Clay High School before beginning his collegiate playing career at Lincoln Trail College. He later continued his career at McKendree University before finishing at Carolina University, where he has remained as part of the coaching staff.

His experience as both a player and coach at Mando Field provides a unique continuity as the Crocketts prepare to launch their first season, offering an immediate connection between the program, the ballpark, and the community.

“We wanted our first head coach to be someone who understands player development, values community, and already feels at home in Mocksville,” said team leadership. “J.P. checks all of those boxes, and we’re excited to have him leading the Crocketts from day one.”

The Davie Crocketts will compete in the Blue Ridge League beginning in the summer of 2026, with home games played at Mando Field in Mocksville, North Carolina.
